At Square Eye, we use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to work more efficiently and creatively on behalf of our clients. We believe in being transparent about how we use these technologies, and respectful of your privacy, intellectual property, and strategic priorities.
How we use AI
We regularly use a range of AI platforms – including OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude, Google Gemini & Flow, Perplexity, and Notion AI – to assist with:
- Content generation & optimisation Drafting or refining website copy, meta descriptions, or accessibility text.
- Coding support Assisting with troubleshooting, code refactoring, and plugin development.
- Research & advice Investigating SEO questions, plugin recommendations, or design best practices.
- Data formatting & file conversion Converting between formats (e.g. CSV, HTML, Markdown), reordering datasets, or bulk-renaming.
- Internal efficiency Automating routine tasks, generating test content, or helping us communicate more clearly and consistently. For instance, we use an AI notetaker during meetings (if our clients don’t mind) to make sure we don’t miss anything.
All AI outputs are reviewed by humans before being delivered to clients.
What we don’t do
- We do not upload or share any confidential or client-provided content with AI platforms.
- We do not use AI to make decisions on your behalf without discussion.
- We do not train models using any proprietary client data.
- We do not expose your website to external data scraping tools through our AI workflows.
What we might do
- We may use AI to analyse public-facing content on your website as part of QA or SEO analysis – similar to what Google or other bots might do.
- We may use AI tools to help draft content based on publicly available information, such as legal sector trends or your own published material.
- If we’re using AI for strategic exploration (e.g. prototyping a new layout idea or imagining a tone of voice), we’ll always tell you.
Your choices
If you’d like your website to be optimised for – or explicitly excluded from – AI indexing and training (e.g. by ChatGPT, Google, Perplexity, etc), let us know at [email protected]. We can configure your site to:
- Encourage indexing by AI platforms for greater discoverability.
- Discourage AI crawlers using meta tags and robots.txt rules.
- Block specific bots where technically feasible.
We’re happy to advise on the pros and cons depending on your goals.
Our commitment
We believe that AI, used responsibly, can be a powerful tool to deliver better websites and better service. But we also understand that many of our clients – especially in legal and professional sectors – have legitimate concerns about privacy, confidentiality and compliance. We’re committed to:
- Using AI transparently and ethically.
- Staying informed about changes in AI capabilities and risks.
- Helping you make informed decisions about AI and your website.
If you have any questions about our AI use or would like to discuss an AI policy for your own organisation, we’d be glad to talk. Last reviewed: 10 July 2025
