At Square Eye, we recognise our responsibility to operate in a way that respects people and the planet. As a digital-first, fully remote business, we’re fortunate to have a relatively low environmental footprint – but we believe there’s always room to do better.
Our commitments
Remote-first and mindful of travel: Our team works from home, avoiding daily emissions from commuting and office energy use. We rely on a range of digital tools to collaborate and meet virtually. In-person meetings and travel are the exception, not the norm.
Energy-aware at home: A third of our team already run their homes on renewable energy, with others planning to switch soon. We encourage responsible energy use and recycling in our respective locations.
Paperless by default: We rarely use paper in our work and promote digital alternatives with our clients, helping them move away from paper-based processes too.
Thoughtful hosting and digital practices: We use reputable hosting providers and follow best practices for building efficient, accessible, and low-impact websites. The digital tools we use are all carbon neutral or powered by renewable energy wherever possible.
Tree planting with Evertreen: To help offset our footprint and support global reforestation efforts, we fund tree planting through Evertreen.
A shared physical presence: While we have no central office, we do maintain a minimal footprint at Smithfield Business Centre, where we receive post and occasionally use meeting rooms.
Continuous improvement: We’re not currently certified under any specific sustainability standards, but we stay informed and strive to follow best practice as it evolves.
