Our project process
We’ve delivered hundreds of websites for law firms, chambers and professional organisations — and our process is built on that experience. Every project is a little different, but we follow a clear, proven path from first scoping session to final launch (and beyond). Here’s how it works.
1. Discovery & planning
We begin by understanding your organisation, your audiences and your goals. This phase gives us the strategic foundations to design the right structure, features and content flow for your website.
- We run a series of calls, questionnaires or workshops — depending on your needs
- Together we agree the sitemap, functionality, and where content will come from
- We set up your Basecamp project space and introduce you to the team
- If required, we involve clerks, practice heads, or content editors early — so their voices are heard
You’ll come away with a clear plan — and a team that already understands you.
2. Design & content
Once the structure is agreed, we shape the look and feel of your new site and begin assembling content.
- We help you choose between a custom design or refined theme approach
- We produce wireframes and mockups in an iterative process, with your feedback
- We support your team with content guidance — including layout, SEO and tone
- Imagery is sourced or planned (including original photography if needed)
- We provide placeholders or templates for content still being drafted
No design is signed off until you’re happy — and we work with you to make content creation easier, not harder.
I think the little video snippets to help us project manage our way through each section were excellent. You understood the nature of our stakeholders and the need for engagement and involvement. This made it much easier for a committee of people to work their way through at times to suit them, and to enable us to keep the decision making moving along. Genius.
3. Build & refine
Here’s where it comes to life. We build your new website using WordPress, extended with our tried-and-tested systems, and tailored to suit your content, workflows and future plans.
- We set up fast, secure hosting and install WordPress and our tailored layer on top for chambers or law firm management
- Our developers customise the site layout, features and admin tools
- We add your content, cross-link related sections and structure internal navigation
- We install and configure search, PDF tools, mailing list signups, analytics, and more
- You explore the site, and request any refinements using your change budget
This phase turns strategy and design into a living, breathing site — one that’s fast, secure and easy to manage.
4. Launch, training & support
Before launch, we test, refine, train and prepare your team — so the handover is smooth, and the site starts strong.
- We run a full QA process including responsive layout checks, form testing, broken link scans and performance audits
- We provide video training, in-dashboard tutorials, and a live Zoom session tailored to your editors
- We launch late in the week (usually Thursday afternoons), and stay on call over the weekend
- Post-launch, we run 1-month, 3-month and 6-month reviews if desired
- Ongoing support, hosting and content help is always available
You won’t be left on your own — we’re here for the long term.
Project length
Most projects take 3 to 6 months, depending on the number of stakeholders and whether any branding or photography work is involved. We build in flexibility — because we know real-world projects often include last-minute content changes, or evolving ideas from your team.
