We typically work on projects with budgets between £10,000 and £30,000. If you’re a small business, start-up or non-profit with a budget under £10,000, please try our partner agency, Studio Matas.

What factors commonly affect a project budget?
Design approach
An original website design might involve a team of people and an iterative process of planning, content gathering, photo selection, sketching, mockups in Photoshop, changes, sign-off, coding as webpages, another round of changes, testing on different browsers, testing on mobile devices, and more changes.
Or, you can chose a ready-made design from a gallery and have it installed quickly. It won’t be original or exclusive to you, but with additional customisation and your branding, it can be made unique to a degree. This approach would cost thousands of pounds less, but comes with limitations and may tie your hands in future.
Or there are in-between approaches. This is why one of our first questions to a new client is, “What kind of budget do you have?” That way we can focus on appropriate suggestions for you and not waste your time
Content
Functionality
Is your website simply a ‘brochure site’ with text and imagery, or will it actually do things? Can your visitors search directories of people or publications? How will that search facility work? Can profiles be download as PDFs, or bundled in a briefcase system? Will you have online registration forms to cut down paperwork in your office? Do you run events? How will they be displayed on the website – and can people book online? If so, what fields will be on the booking form?
With any functionality, the devil is in the detail, and so one of our first tasks on the project is to sit down with you and properly plan your functionality.
Automations & integrations
We take pride in our experience building automations and integrations to make your website communicate with other business tools, and reduce the time you spend on day-to-day tasks, communication and data transfer.
As you can imagine every client’s needs are very different in this area. A simple connection between two online tools might take 10 minutes if there’s a ready-made, plug-and-play connector to use. But if you need custom API development to make two tools talk to each other, that could be a separate project in itself.
Talk to us about your current processes and stack of tools and we can advise on clever ways of integrating or automating them, and the costs involved.
AI
We’re all feeling our way into the brave new world of artificial intelligence and all the things it can do for us; and new tools and methods are arriving daily, it seems.
Some third-party tools like AI chatbots can be installed on your website easily. If you have custom requirements, more work is involved.
Talk to us about your AI requirements and we can scope the project with you.
Project management
Do you have a clear brief, full of detail and locked down, or will you (most likely) come up with new ideas as the project progresses? How will decisions be taken at your end? How quickly can we expect responses to regular, detailed questions? Will we have one point of contact or several? Are you happy to use online project management tools? Video conferences or onsite meetings?
