Menu

Littleton Chambers is a leading employment, commercial and sports law set based in the Temple, with a highly regarded team of barristers including many silks. Square Eye had taken over support of their previous website after the original agency closed down, so we knew the site, and its limitations, inside out.

Goals

The project began as a design refresh within the existing brand, and grew into a full rebrand and ground-up rebuild. The goals:

  1. Replace an inflexible, dated site with a modern, accessible design that reflects Littleton's position at the Bar;
  2. Fix fundamentals: slow mobile performance, small font sizes, colour contrast failures and confusing navigation;
  3. Refresh the brand, from a constrained red, grey and black palette to a contemporary identity, without losing what makes Littleton recognisable;
  4. Make content easy to find, with better search, filtering and cross-referencing of barristers, expertise and resources.

Solutions

New logo. New website. Same Littleton.

Our senior designer Cristina Morientes led a brand refresh that kept Littleton's name and heritage front and centre while replacing the limited palette and dated marque with a cleaner, more confident identity. The new identity was rolled out across brand guidelines, stationery, merchandise, presentation templates, email signatures and social media templates, and includes an Arabic version of the logo for international audiences. Branding and website launched together in June 2026.

The site design puts video and strong photography to work. The homepage opens with full-width video, directory quotes from Chambers UK Bar and the Legal 500 rotate near the top, and clear calls to action route visitors to the clerks from anywhere on the site, including a slide-out enquiry form in the header.

A ground-up rebuild

Rather than reskin an inflexible codebase, we rebuilt from the ground up: a custom WordPress theme on a modern build pipeline, coded to current standards for accessibility, SEO and sustainability, and structured so chambers' team can edit every page without design decisions.

The previous site ran on WordPress too, but the resemblance ends there. We migrated every profile, article and page programmatically into cleaner data structures and a far friendlier editing dashboard, with nothing retyped and no URLs or search rankings lost.

Features that work hard

Beyond the core chambers site, the build includes the kind of custom development we specialise in:

  • A brochure builder, so clerks and visitors can gather barrister profiles, practice areas and events into a single, beautifully formatted PDF, assembled on the fly;
  • Automated barrister profile PDFs and vCards, generated live from the CMS so they are never out of date, plus Word versions for the marketing team to repurpose;
  • An events system with online booking, per-event capacity limits, invite-only events and a recordings archive, all handled on the site rather than through a third-party ticketing platform;
  • A resources hub bringing news, cases, articles, podcasts and recordings together, with instant filtering by practice area and category, no page reloads required;
  • Weighted site search that prioritises barristers and expertise over everything else;
  • Mailing list signup integrated with chambers' existing LexLinks system, plus lead magnet downloads to grow the list.

The outcome

Trophy

The new site launched in June 2026 alongside the refreshed brand, and won Outstanding Website at the WebAwards 2026, the Web Marketing Association's top accolade for a legal website, which our work for Cornerstone Barristers also won in 2023.

In their post-launch feedback, chambers rated the new website "excellent", scored the project 10/10 for likelihood to recommend, and were very satisfied with the quality of work, technical expertise, value for money, communication, project management and support. We continue to support Littleton day to day, from content and analytics to security and new features.
